Denouncing your vote on HB1032.
To: Rep. Wesco
From: A verified voter in Wakarusa, IN
December 9
I’m writing to express my complete opposition to your vote in favor of redrawing Indiana’s congressional districts. As you know, the Indiana Constitution requires redistricting once every ten years, following the census. It does not authorize mid-cycle redraws simply because one party feels the political winds shifting. What happened here isn’t constitutional stewardship — it’s opportunism dressed up as procedure.
Indiana Republicans already hold 7 of the state’s 9 congressional seats. That supermajority alone proves this latest redistricting push wasn’t about fairness, representation, or correcting an imbalance. It was a partisan action designed to entrench power even further, and every voter — regardless of party — should be concerned when elected officials use the map as a shield against accountability, when politicians choose their voters instead of the other way around.
Your vote sends a clear message: you’re more interested in protecting a party advantage than protecting the integrity of our elections or the voices of Hoosiers. And because of that, you’ve lost my support.
I will be voting against you in your next election, and I will actively support any candidate running to replace you — Republican, Democrat, or Independent — who is willing to put fair representation above political self-preservation.
We deserve leaders who trust voters, not ones who redraw lines to avoid them.
