The president-elect is now openly calling for the weaponization of the Federal Bureau of Investigation by his nominee Kash Patel against former representative Liz Cheney. As you are no-doubt aware, the role of director of the FBI has been apolitical and should remain so. Any weaponization would be a complete and total anathema to the rule-of-law in our country. Please work to uphold the law and speak out against Mr. Patel’s nomination. Should his nomination come to a vote in committee, I would urge you to vote “no” and show Texans you are a law-and-order defender. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to your response.
