Protect voter rights, stop unjust purge of eligible voters.

To: Sen. Merkley, Rep. Bonamici, Pres. Biden, Sen. Wyden

From: A constituent in Portland, OR

November 3

The Supreme Court's decision to allow Virginia to purge around 1,600 voters from its registration rolls just days before a consequential election appears designed to discourage people from voting, considering this was only done in left leaning areas. This is next level corruption that threatens to wrongfully deprive Americans of their fundamental right to vote by removing eligible voters based on their perceived citizenship status. Obviously done to put the elections in Republicans favor. Every legitimate voter should have unimpeded access to the ballot box. Our democracy depends on the free and full participation of all eligible citizens in the electoral process. Action needs to be taken against this now, though voters can register on the day they vote in Virginia. Many of the purged citizens aren't even non-citizens but registered voters.
