Because of Trump's anti-regulation position, it is unlikely that a federal data privacy bill or AI bill will be pursued over the next four years. Illinois must protect its residents by passing it's own bills on these topics. Protecting Illinois residents is vitally important. As similar laws have been adopted in other US states and in Europe and around the world, there would be very little impact on corporations. Smaller businesses would be impacted, but they are the most UNLIKELY to survive a data breach if they aren't required to take steps to protect personal data . Please do not engage with that horrible lobbyist who is crushing bills in the US; he is part of the problem, not the solution. Please protect us since Trump won't.
