I am writing to you to urge you to strengthen old-growth forests protection before it's too late. Places like the Tongass National Forest, Izembek Wilderness and other forests in the PNW, CA and points east, are critically important for carbon sequestration and deserve to be permanently protected from logging. I urge you to protect these irreplaceable forests in the same way President Carter preserved millions of acres in Alaska in the last days of his presidency. We can only hope that these protections will stand the test of the administration coming into power but it is important to at least try. Thank you.
