Subject: Dangerous Misinformation from the White House
Yesterday’s White House press conference with Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. was dangerously irresponsible.
Trump falsely claimed that pregnant women taking Tylenol are linked to autism—a reckless and unproven assertion that directly contradicts the scientific consensus. His rambling comments about vaccines were equally incoherent, repeating long-debunked myths that have put public health at risk for decades.
Infectious disease pediatrician Dr. Paul Offit told The Washington Post: “It was the most dangerously irresponsible press conference in the realm of public health in American history.”
Elected officials have a responsibility to denounce this flood of misinformation. We cannot allow conspiracy theories and pseudo-science from the highest office in the land to undermine trust in medicine, confuse the public, and endanger lives.
I urge you to publicly reject these falsehoods and stand up for science, evidence, and the health of American families.
