Investigate financial practices and accountability at Third Future Schools

I demand the legislature investigate the concerning financial practices and potential misuse of public funds by Mike Miles and Third Future Schools while he served as CEO from 2016-2023. The transfer of at least $49 million from Texas public schools to the Colorado-based nonprofit without proper disclosure or oversight raises serious questions about transparency and accountability. As evidenced by records and expert analysis, Miles may have violated state laws and federal nonprofit guidelines by failing to disclose related-party transactions and channeling funds between entities without documentation. His actions appear to put corporate interests ahead of students and public education. The people of Texas deserve a thorough, independent investigation to get to the bottom of these troubling allegations and ensure responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars. Upholding ethics and fiscal responsibility in our public institutions should be of utmost priority.
