I ask the senator to oppose the fascist and bigoted amendments proposed to Title IX by right-wing congressional extremists. I strongly oppose these attacks on trans rights and trans people’s participation in public life. These attacks are aimed at laying the groundwork for further violent state repression. While proponents of these transphobic bans claim to care about protecting women, these are the same violent extremists who have no issue with killing women with abortion bans and who openly work to dismantle women’s rights. These are extremist proposals, and compromising on this issue is unacceptable. I urge the representative to vote against the proposed amendments to Title IX to protect trans people, here in Oregon and nationwide.
