The United States' ongoing military aid to Israel, despite human rights violations against Palestinians, is unacceptable. Israel's oppressive occupation and illegal settlement expansion in the West Bank undermine prospects for peace. The recent surge in violence, with Israeli forces killing over 90 Palestinians in the West Bank this year alone, is deeply concerning. American taxpayer money should not fund violence against civilians or the perpetuation of an apartheid regime. It is imperative that military assistance to Israel be immediately suspended until there is an end to the occupation, full respect for Palestinian rights, and a negotiated solution to the conflict based on international law and equality. The provision of weapons enables further injustice; prioritizing human rights over military interests is crucial for lasting peace.
