Please Advocate to Exempt Veterans Affairs Employees from hiring freeze
To: Rep. Cline, Sen. Kaine, Sen. Warner
From: A constituent in Staunton, VA
February 5
Please compel the President and VA Secretary Collins to Exempt Veterans Affairs Employees and contractors from the current hiring freeze.
This freeze has already affected the mission effectiveness of VA medical services within our district, from the VA hospital in Salem, to Community Based Outpatient Clinic’s (CBOC) such as Staunton.
These and other actions being recommended by the president’s advisors will cause unnecessary long-term strain and damage to our predominantly rural Veteran population throughout the Roanoke and Shenandoah Valley and neighboring communities the Salem VA serves.
In addition to the negative economic impact these job and talent losses will have on our area, these decisions will risk lives to the most vulnerable Veterans receiving the medical care and benefits they’ve earned and deserve.
Do what’s right and stand up for the people and military Veterans in Virginia’s 6th District.
