I have grave concerns over reports that a 25-year-old engineer with ties to Elon Musk has been granted administrative access to critical government payment systems like the Payment Automation Manager and Secure Payment System. The potential for misuse or exploitation of this level of access is extremely troubling. These systems control trillions of dollars in payments for Social Security, tax refunds, and more - the very foundation of our social safety net and governmental operations. Allowing an unvetted private citizen, especially one tied to Musk's anti-democratic "Department of Government Efficiency", to have the ability to modify code and data within these systems is an alarming breach of security protocols. It puts all of our personal information and the stable functioning of government at risk of manipulation or theft. I urge you to take immediate action to revoke any external access to these core Treasury systems and reaffirm longstanding security practices that authorize only thoroughly vetted career government personnel. The independence and integrity of our public institutions must be safeguarded from private interference and overreach.
