Title: Protect Transgender & Non-Binary Students, Oppose AZ SCR1013 Schools; biological sex; requirements Arizona Senate Concurrent Resolution 1013 aims to impose discriminatory policies against transgender and non-binary students in schools. It would mandate that students only have access to facilities and activities based on their biological sex assigned at birth, disregarding their gender identity. This would force trans and non-binary students to use restrooms and facilities that do not align with who they are, putting them at increased risk of harassment and violence. National health organizations such as the American Academy of Pediatrics strongly oppose such measures, which lead to marginalization and negatively impact the wellbeing of LGBTQ+ youth. Schools should be inclusive environments where all students feel safe, supported, and able to learn free from discrimination. Denying students the ability to use facilities matching their gender identity serves no legitimate purpose and violates their dignity and rights. I urge you to reject this harmful legislation that targets a vulnerable group of young people.
