Last year, the Summer EBT program was wildly successful in TN. This new program provides $120 for kids who rely on school meals to eat over the summer. For many of these kids, school meals are the only time they get a hot meal, and three months is a long time to go hungry. In 2024, almost 700,000 kids in TN benefitted, and the program brought almost $79 million in federal funds into the state. I ask you, why would TN leave this amount of money on the table? Why would we want to turn away a program with a proven track record of serving not only the most vulnerable children but also leaving behind millions of dollars of tax dollars paid out by Tennesseans to the federal government? Please OPT IN to the 2025 Summer EBT program.
