Millions of Americans rely on programs like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, and the ACA to survive and thrive. Yet, proposals to defund or dismantle these programs threaten to destabilize lives and communities across the country.
Social Security is not a "handout"—it is a program that workers have paid into their entire lives. Defunding or cutting benefits would rob Americans of their rightful earnings, push millions into poverty, and cause widespread financial instability.
Key Issues:
Social Security Fairness Act (H.R. 82): The House passed this bill with overwhelming bipartisan support, and more than 60 senators have co-sponsored it. I urge Senate Leadership to schedule a floor vote before the end of the year.
Medicare, Medicaid, and ACA: These programs are lifelines for millions. Cutting them would disproportionately harm low-income families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities.
Economic Impact: Eliminating these safety nets would increase homelessness and healthcare costs, further straining local and state resources.
I urge you to:
Protect and expand funding for Social Security and other safety net programs.
Advocate for a Senate vote on the Social Security Fairness Act.
Oppose any measures that defund or dismantle these essential programs.
Thank you for standing up for the rights and dignity of working Americans.
