The situation between Israel and Palestine has become increasingly dire, with the loss of innocent lives on both sides. I urge you to support the Joint Resolutions of Disapproval to block over $20 billion in offensive weapons sales to Israel. These arms transfers violate U.S. laws like the Foreign Assistance Act and the Arms Export Control Act, as the weapons have been used indiscriminately against civilians. Documentary evidence shows widespread violations of international law, including bombing hospitals, schools, and civilian infrastructure. Moreover, sending more weapons undermines U.S. policy goals of achieving a ceasefire and securing the release of hostages. It enables the Israeli government to prolong the conflict and escalate violence rather than pursue diplomacy. Many allies have already halted offensive arms transfers due to the legal and moral concerns. Blocking these arms sales is a crucial step to uphold international law, protect civilians, and increase leverage for a negotiated solution. I implore you to put moral principles and human rights above military interests by voting for the Joint Resolutions when they come before the Senate. The continued bloodshed and suffering demand resolute action.
