I strongly oppose Russell Vought's nomination as director of the Office of Management and Budget. His extreme rhetoric about a supposed "Marxist takeover" and the need for a brutal crackdown on political opponents is deeply disturbing. His views promoting Christian nationalism and demonizing secular government are antithetical to American values of pluralism and separation of church and state. Vought seems intent on sabotaging the federal workforce, depicting career civil servants as "the enemy" who should be demoralized and traumatized. This is an unacceptable attack on the non-partisan civil service that upholds our democratic institutions. His proposal to strip job protections and enable mass firings of those who don't comply is a recipe for transforming the government into a personal fiefdom that serves only the president's interests. Vought's incendiary rhetoric and undemocratic vision for reshaping the executive branch make him utterly unfit for this powerful position overseeing the operational and fiscal management of the entire federal government. I urge you to resoundingly reject his nomination to protect the integrity of our democratic system of government.
