President Trump’s recent directive to forbid any mention of DEI in the governments fear is ludicrous act. As a registered nurse, I see that the directive to not discuss race, gender, or socioeconomic status does a great deal of harm to agencies that look out for our public health. Do you remember polio, measles, or TB and the havoc they could wreck? It seems that any expertise in this administration is already being thrown out the window. I really hope that we do not have a pandemic under this current administration as we all saw how well those efforts by the previous Trump administration went (bleach anyone?) I urge you as an elected official to pushback on any efforts to quash even having discussions for health, advisory committees, scientific reports and even talking to college about such issues. We are truly heading into a middle ages management of diseases and health issues if there is no pushback.
