Urgent call to protect NC voter rights
To: Rep. Ross
From: A constituent in Cary, NC
January 11
I am writing to you not just as a concerned voter, but as a citizen who believes in the integrity of our democracy and the fundamental right to vote. We are currently facing a critical situation in our state, and I urge you to take immediate action to protect our electoral process.
Recently, despite a clear victory for Democrat Allison Riggs in the state Supreme Court election—an outcome confirmed by two recounts—her opponent, Judge Jefferson Griffin, has refused to concede. He has made an alarming request to the Republican-controlled North Carolina Supreme Court to invalidate over 60,000 legitimate votes. This move is particularly troubling as it comes without any evidence of voter fraud or illegal voting.
The temporary blocking of the certification of Riggs’ victory is not just an isolated incident; it represents a significant threat to our democratic values and the rights of voters across North Carolina. We cannot allow the will of the people to be undermined by unfounded claims and political maneuvering.
As your constituent, I implore you to stand firmly against the removal of voter names from the rolls and to safeguard every legitimate vote cast in our elections. It is essential that we uphold the principles of democracy and ensure that all voices are heard and respected.
Please take a stand for our voter rights and work towards protecting the integrity of our elections. Together, we can fight back against this attempt to erode our democracy.
Thank you for your attention to this urgent issue.
Sincerely,
