I’m writing to urge you to oppose attempts to reduce Medicaid funding and coverages through approaches like the imposition of work requirements, conversion of federal Medicaid funding to block grants, or reduction of federal control to Medicaid expansion costs. Medicaid provided essential and cost effective healthcare to millions of Americans, especially children. Using Medicaid dollars to finance tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans will not only harm low-income Americans but also cause disproportionate harm to lower-income states and rural hospitals (like those in MONTANA) who rely on Medicaid coverage to keep their doors open. Ending or reducing Medicaid funding will disproportionately impact the constituents you were elected to protect and support. It will devastate Montana and the people who live here.
