An Open Letter

To: Sen. Cassidy, Sen. Kennedy, Rep. Letlow

From: A constituent in Denham Springs, LA

January 9

Dear Members of Congress, I am writing to urge you to oppose H.R.7, the “No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion Act and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act.” This bill is a deeply invasive measure that undermines the privacy rights and health care access of women across the nation. By stripping away critical tax benefits like deductions and premium tax credits, H.R.7 effectively restricts access to comprehensive health insurance coverage that includes abortion services—even in cases where a woman’s health is in danger. It also limits small businesses’ ability to claim existing health care deductions or credits, disproportionately harming both employees and the broader economy. This legislation politicizes women’s health care decisions, intruding on the private relationship between a woman and her doctor, and perpetuates the outdated notion that women cannot make rational decisions about their own bodies. At a time when Americans are calling for policies that support economic growth and job creation, this bill is a divisive and harmful distraction. I urge you to stand up for women’s rights, health care access, and economic stability by opposing H.R.7. Sincerely,
