Oppose the Republican House budget bill
To: Rep. Lee
From: A constituent in Las Vegas, NV
February 22
It's my understanding that the House GOP budget bill basically takes from the poor to give to the rich.
The tax cuts [significantly benefitting the rich] would be partially offset by cutting federal funding for crucial life-saving programs such as Medicaid, Medicare, and SNAP.
It's my understanding that the budget also includes eliminating subsidies; such as the ACA subsidy (vital to assisting people acquire affordable health insurance).
They are preparing to harm the average working class Americans in order to fund tax cuts for the wealthiest.
Make them go on the record about what will make the cut and what will not. Demand they specify how much will be cut out of programs that working Americans count on to survive and thrive.
I urge you to oppose the Republican budget bill.
