Pursue diplomatic path to two-state solution respecting human rights

The devastating impacts of war and oppression in the Gaza Strip are a grave humanitarian crisis that demands a just and peaceful resolution. However, proposals involving forced relocation, territorial seizure, or U.S. military occupation raise serious concerns about violating human rights and international law. Such actions could constitute ethnic cleansing and would likely escalate violence rather than resolve the conflict. The path forward must uphold the dignity and self-determination of all people involved. We urge exploring diplomatic solutions that prioritize human rights, accountability for war crimes, and establishing a viable Palestinian state alongside Israel based on pre-1967 borders. Comprehensive negotiations aimed at a lasting two-state solution offer the best hope for a just peace. Reconstruction efforts in Gaza should be led by the Palestinian people themselves with robust international support and oversight to ensure aid reaches those in need. The U.S. can play a constructive role by supporting good-faith peace negotiations, pressuring all parties to abide by international law, and providing impartial humanitarian assistance. Ultimately, any enduring resolution must grant equal rights, security and sovereignty to both Israelis and Palestinians. Unilateral actions that displace civilians or further entrench the occupation are unacceptable and counterproductive. We call on our leaders to pursue a diplomatic way forward rooted in human rights and international law.
