I am writing to ask you to vote against overriding the veto of HB10. As a mother of a child in our NC public school system, and a resident of hurricane affected Western NC, I firmly stand with supporting our public schools that are already lacking needed resources, and supporting our communities recovery. This is where our tax dollars need to go. Vouchers to wealthy families for private school are a “want” not a need. I attended private schools all of k-12 and and my parents worked hard to pay for every bit of it. This was a “choice” they made with their hard earned money. NC parents can make that choice with their own money. My son and all of our children in NC deserve a great, well supported public school education. As a child of a schoolteacher, I also know how hard teachers work and how passionate they are about helping our children thrive. They deserve our respect! And a salary to reflect that. Our communities are hurting and need this money to heal and recover from Helene. LET THE VETO STAND, please.
