Reject Trump's unilateral recess appointments undermining democratic norms

November 15
I strongly disagree with President Trump's intention to use recess appointments to bypass the constitutionally mandated advice and consent role of the Senate in confirming executive and judicial nominees. This would undermine vital checks and balances and the separation of powers that are fundamental to American democracy. Recess appointments were meant as a stopgap measure, not a tool to evade Congressional oversight. Attempting to pack the federal judiciary and executive branch with unvetted, unqualified loyalists poses a grave threat to the rule of law and accountability. I urge you to emphatically reject any such unilateral and undemocratic power grab that would further erode democratic norms and institutions.
