The Equal Rights Amendment has met all requirements for ratification by 38 states to become the 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. However, due to Republican opposition and legal debates, the National Archivist has not yet formally published and certified the ERA. By publishing the ERA before leaving office, the Biden-Harris Administration can enshrine gender equality in the Constitution and provide crucial protection against discrimination based on sex and gender identity nationwide. This would establish guardrails against the attacks on fundamental rights that MAGA Republicans are poised to unleash after taking control of government. As a fierce advocate for equal justice, Vice President Harris is well-positioned to lead this effort to get the ERA over the finish line. I urge you to call on VP Harris to publish and certify the Equal Rights Amendment, leaving no stone unturned in the fight to safeguard equality and human rights from the radical MAGA agenda.
