The picture today of the destruction of the white house is an illustration of where we are today. I know that there are plans to add on to the building. The addition is to the benefit of the president and his rich friends while he takes away so many things from the people of this country. The protests over the weekend show just how many people believe we are on the wrong path. You should be paying attention. For me, this is a reminder to focus on one thing and tell you what I believe. I believe you should vote to extend the subsidies for the ACA marketplace premiums that are set to expire. You should do it now. Don't "wait until the government is back in session." Do it in order to open the government for business. Do it because, if you don't, my parents will have to pay money they don't have, money they couldn't possibly afford even with my help, for the healthcare they need to survive. Their lives literally depend on the ACA subsidies. Do you want goodwill from those peaceful crowds of protesters you saw this weekend? Do the right thing. Vote in support of extending the subsidies. While the president is tearing a hole in our democracy and a literal hole in the people's White House, you can help bring us back together.
