The transition to daylight savings time has been shown to negatively impact public health and safety studies link the springtime change to increased cardiovascular events missed medical appointments and more emergency room visits. Remaining on standard time year-round aligns better with our natural circadian rhythms and would benefit the well-being of all Americans. As a parent, I'm particularly concerned with how this affects children's health and safety. Nearly 2/3 of parents are concerned about their children's safety when they go to school before sunrise, as would commonly occur under permanent daylight savings time. Eliminating disruptive time changes protects public health by preventing sleep disruption, circadian misalignment, and associated safety risks. This reform, backed by medical experts, would allow our schedules to remain in sync with the sun's natural rhythms. I urge you to support legislation to end the biannual clock shifts and establish a fixed nationwide standard time.
