Just ask Marie Antoinette. History doesn’t look kindly on leaders who mock or ignore the needs of their people. You’ve had eleven months to produce a budget and instead chosen to bicker, grandstand, and keep the government closed. Do your job. Reopen the government, fund the safety nets that keep our country stable, and start leading like your seat depends on it — because it does.
