The ability of a society to function at a high level has been proven to be tied to the level of autonomy the women are afforded.
In civilizations throughout history, those where women were not second class citizens relegated solely to child bearing and rearing are those most often associated with great achievements and a powerful history. In the modern era, communities where women are in control of their lives and choosing their contributions are more prosperous, and enjoy higher quality of life.
Forced birth robs women of that autonomy. For this and many other reasons, i am writing a letter a day until we end forced birth by writing reproductive freedom into law.
