The separation of church and state is a sacred concept in the United States of America. It means that no religious sect is able to force other religious sects to obey tenets of their faith.
It prevents laws that would satisfy certain Muslims by decreeing segregation of sexes. It prevents the outlawing of coffee that would satisfy members of LDS. It allows businesses to operate on the weekend, despite what some Christians and Jews might believe.
It should also allow a woman to make her own reproductive choices, despite what some Christians believe. Forcing religious beliefs on others is wrong, and for this and many other reasons I am writing a letter a day till we end forced birth by writing reproductive freedom into law.
