Resistbot Petition: Break Up the Ticketmaster Live Nation Monopoly
An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Break Up the Ticketmaster Live Nation Monopoly

34 so far! Let’s get to 50 signers!

Live Nation-Ticketmaster owns more than 70% of the live events ticket market. That is because, in 2010, the Department of Justice (DOJ) allowed the two companies to merge. They use that monopoly power to charge exorbitant fees, increase ticket prices even after they are put in your cart, and have no incentive to compete. The litmus test for anti-trust is consumer harm, which is the case here. We need our elected representatives to call on the DOJ and the Federal Trade Commission to overhaul their guidelines to make blocking anti-competitive, anti-consumer mergers easier. After decades of permissive anti-trust policy, it's time for a change. Swifties deserve better.
