The fillibuster is antidemocratic. At this point it stands directly in the way of voting rights and national security by blocking the bill to investigate the 1/6 insurrection. There is neither a political nor an ideological reason to maintain it. Democrats have gone out of their way in the interest of bipartisan cooperation for the creation of a commission to investigate the insurrection. Republicans have revealed, yet again, that they are unwilling or incapable of dealing in good faith. It's time to stop waiting for a loyal opposition: they are actively running interference for traitors and insurrectionists. Do your duty to the integrity of our republic and do away with the filibuster.
