It is Christmas Day, a significant holiday for a significant number of Americans. It is also one of the greatest reminders that for a nation that supposedly values freedom of religion, we routinely ignore those that don't fit a Christian mold.
The concept that women are not allowed to decide what happens in their lives is unique only to extreme sects of various religions. The fact that the Taliban and evangelical Christians hold the same views on reproductive health care is fascinating, and a sign that refusing women freedom of reproductive choice is a shade of religious persecution.
It is un-Constitutional for an American government to force a religion on anyone. For this and many other reasons, I am writing a letter a day to end forced birth by writing reproductive health freedom into law.
