An open letter to the President and U.S. Congress

Allow Haitians their legal right to seek asylum

We have a legal and ethical obligation to allow Haitians to seek asylum. I urge you to call DHS and ICE and demand that all deportation flights to Haiti to STOP. In addition, our government must cancel all plans to use Guantanamo Bay to hold asylum seekers. The images of border patrol agents attacking Haitian migrants seeking asylum in the US are sickening. Seeking asylum is a human right. Under no circumstances were the border patrol's actions permissible.
