Please support the provisions for child care and paid parental leave in the reconciliation bill. Parents and caregivers won’t be able to get back to work until we are able to balance work and caregiving responsibilities, and be able to afford to do so. Children benefit immensely from high-quality early education, and our professionals who do this work deserve to earn a living wage. Especially because we all depend on them to be able to meet our obligations. Parents in our country do not have as many children as they would’ve liked because of the crushing, mortgage-exceeding cost of child care prior to kindergarten. To be on a resilient path toward growth, parents need to k ow that they can maintain their careers and nurture their families.
