Resistbot Petition: Vote NO on SB621/SB622 - end gerrymandering (Wisc. only)

An open letter to State Legislatures (Wisc. only)

Vote NO on SB621/SB622 - end gerrymandering

67 so far! Help us get to 100 signers!

A decade ago WI legislators gerrymandered Wisconsin and took away Wisconsinites’ freedom to have a say through their vote. Our votes are counted, but our votes do not count. On 10/21/21 the WI Legislature announced the proposed new gerrymandered maps and made it crystal clear they want to once again deny Wisconsinites’ freedom to vote for another decade. The Legislative bills to adopt the maps are SB 621 and SB 622. The maps are so bad the Princeton Gerrymandering Project gave them all an "F," and PlanScore found them bad as well. The People's Maps Commission also came out with new maps on 10/21/21. But in stark contrast with the Legislature, the PMC has used an open & transparent process (which Wisconsinites have demanded through passing Fair Maps referendums/resolutions in a majority of counties). The latest maps were second drafts, revised after reviewing comments & studying the Voting Rights Act. I urge you to strike down these gerrymandered maps by voting NO on SB621/SB622. And I further urge you to take up the PMC’s maps. I look forward to your email reply ASAP.
