As well all are well aware of, the police brutality in this country is revolting. Too many innocent lives have been stolen from us due to it, so what has been the government*s response? To aid the police with military gear and have them fight back. Firstly, the cops do not need military gear. They should not have such gear as it is unneeded. Secondly, said gear is used to take away the rights of good American citizens. It is under the first amendment that we, as Americans, are allowed to gather and hold protests. Having police in military gear to storm protests is a violation of rights. Finally, the gear is used against minorities and minority related issues. Many times white supremacists have gathered and the cops have done nothing but idly watch. This, in itself, is disgusting behaviour. But we already knew this has been happening for years. Please, even if it*s the bare minimum like co-signing this petition or even a discharge to have it To have it not die out in the senate and house, it*s worth doing. Because hundreds of innocent lives have been taken by police and we cannot let this continue. By gearing the police with military grade weapons and protection, you are dividing your people and killing them off.
