An open letter to the U.S. Congress

holding police accountable and preventing racial discrimination in our schools

12 so far! Let’s get to 25 signers!

We need to start listening to protesters. I am urging you to investigate all police related fatalities, especially those involving people of color in our state. Real change is going to start with holding more than just the officers involved in the murder of George Floyd accountable. Start bias awareness campaigns in our elementary schools, encourage meaningful dialogue about race in our country, and examine racist incidences happening in our schools. Racism and bias is taught from an early age and many administrations are scared to acknowledge and address these instances. We need to start listening to protesters.
