Re-Create 2020: Support Criminal Justice Reform

13 so far! Let’s get to 25 signers!

Dear Esteemed leader, Our country men and women are speaking. And marching. And Kneeling. Loudly. We want to be heard. We want change. Lots of us have experienced racism and inequities from time to time, but no where close to how our black brothers and sisters consistently have, everywhere they go, and for centuries. In response to the death of Martin Luther King, 110 American cities started rioting. After the 6th day of riots, the Civil Rights Act of 1968 was passed. This is your chance, as the leadership of America in 2020, to make memorable, important, impactful change. Now is your chance. To give us a chance. We want to live in a country where those people who sign an oath to protect us, protect ALL of us, without using the color of our skin to pre-judge our innocence or guilt. On the behalf of all of mankind, please Ban racial profiling Persecuted False 911 calls like those made by Amy Cooper Reduce arrests for non-criminal offenses Increase Body cams for NYC and Support the Police STAT (stats and transparency) act Support Medical attention to persons under arrest And Repeal of 50a, which hides police misconduct from the public of New York more than in any other state. Please support New York’s Black, Puerto Rican, Hispanic, and Asian Caucus’ criminal justice reform agenda and initiate the same in the other states & territories. Let’s re-create 2020 legacy, and make it the Year We Dismantled white supremacy.
