An open letter to the U.S. Senate

Follow McConnell's Precedent and Leave Seat Vacant

31 so far! Let’s get to 50 signers!

With the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg today I write to you to urge that you follow not just her last wish that the vacancy left by her death not be filled until a new president is installed, I am also demanding that you follow the precedent set by Mitch McConnell in 2016 when he refused to fill the seat vacated by Justice Scalia. This precedent surely must mean something to you and I hope that you will follow it. The American people should after all have some determination in filling a vacant seat this close to an election. Again, do not fill the newly vacant seat until a new president has been installed.
