An open letter to State Legislatures (WI only) Pass Gov. Evers’ Legislation to Combat Police Violence
77 so far! Let’s get to 100 signers! In the wake of Jacob Blake’s shooting, Governor Evers has signed an executive order calling for a Special Session of the Assembly to pass police accountability and transparency legislation. The legislation that Governor Evers has proposed would:
• Prohibit chokeholds
• Prohibit no-knock warrants
• Create statewide use of force standards
• Expand de-escalation training programs
I ask that you immediately pass this legislation as soon as the State Legislature convenes per Gov. Evers’ executive order. Thank you.
