An open letter to the U.S. Senate

Supreme Court of the United States

12 so far! Let’s get to 25 signers!

As our nation mourns the passing of the Honorable Justice Ginsberg, we are assaulted by the unseemly and partisan assertion by Mitch McConnell that he will put forth a nominee to replace Ginsberg. Not only is this disgraceful and in poor taste, but it is flagrantly hypocritical and a craven act of political posturing and machination. We are actively engaged in the election process. It is up to the next President and their administration to put forth nominees. The vetting process should be handled with precision, circumspection and diligence. This is not the time to run roughshod over a process that affects the nation and its citizens well beyond McConnell’s tenure. This is the future of our children’s children at stake. It is your obligation as our elected officials to safeguard our nation, democracy and future. Do no let Mitch McConnell and any other partisan operatives force the nomination of a Supreme Court Justice. We deserve better.
