The USPS is a constitutionally established public service that performs many functions essential to the maintenance of our way of life. As a physician, I am receiving reports that my patients are seeing delays in delivery of their medications and medical equipment, resulting in increased burden of illness and unnecessary stress for them and their families.
I am also aware that deliberate changes, made by political appointees, are responsible for these delays and failed deliveries. It's difficult not to be aware of the reasons for this sabotage when listening to the President: it seems that he and Republicans are deliberately sabotaging USPS in a desperate attempt to disenfranchise voting Americans during an out-of-control pandemic. Defrauding elections in this manner will not result in a legitimate claim to power, delaying or interfering with the mail is a federal crime, and we will not accept Republicans' complicity in the dismantling of our way of life through sabotage of public services.
Pass the Heroes Act and fund USPS. Stop interfering in our elections and stop endangering your families and ours.
