An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures TESTING NOW
9 so far! Let’s get to 10 signers! Thank you for your swift action in declaring a state of emergency, this action undoubtedly combated the further spread of COVID19 in our community. My fear now though is, because people are being refused testing in droves if they have no travel history or known contact with one of the nine cases in the state, we do not have a clear picture on this pandemic locally. Citizens are being refused a test with fevers and symptoms. We also know based on research from South Korea that asymptomatic carriers were a large piece of this puzzle. We are messaging âno community spreadâ falsely. This is gravely dangerous as we almost certainly do. We are not special. We are not the unicorn. I am begging and imploring you to take further action to close bars and restaurants, gyms and coffee shops. We have a finite amount of tome to get this right and youâve taken the first step. History will remember those who acted appropriately and those who did not. We have a testing crisis that needs to be addressed by local and national leaders immediately. I am imploring you to take immediate action and demand widespread testing now.
