An open letter to the U.S. Senate

Condemn Trump's nod to white supremacy now

8 so far! Let’s get to 10 signers!

Last night Donald Trump made it clear where he stands about white supremacists: he refused to condemn them and he called on the Proud Boys to stand by for him. Where do you stand? Unless you condemn those words, your silence will be seen as compliance. Your record in confirming Trump's judicial nominees-- and failing to drum up any meaningful resistance from your colleagues puts a question mark over your commitment to civil rights for all and equality under the law. So does your praise for the "distinguished legacy" of the man too racist to be a judge, Jeff Sessions. So does your failure to call out some of the racist xenophobic gambits of the Maine GOP. Where do you stand Senator Collins? Unless you speak out, you're sending a dog whistle to the Proud Boys. Speak out now: are you with Trump and the white supremacists or do you uphold the constitution?
