An open letter to State Governors & Legislatures

Relief Funding for the Immunocompromised

7 so far! Let’s get to 10 signers!

If we are going to begin opening the state, we need to discuss relief funding for the immunocompromised. I understand the economic pressure to open back up, but opening back up means my unemployment is taken away. I receive chemotherapy every 5 weeks, I am a type one diabetic, and have a very rare autoimmune disease. My health is at extreme risk if I go back to work, but I can't afford to not go back if the state cuts unemployment. I know there are more people just like me and we need to begin the discussion of how we are going to support the people who physically can't go back to work at the risk of getting sick. We as a state can't afford to see the number of infected people increase at a rapid rate, and having relief options available for the immunocompromised can potentially help contain the spread, as well as allows the state to open at a more progressive rate for those that are ready to open.
