We Demand Police Reform

Elected officials, I'm writing you to remind you of your duty to your constituents. You are the embodiment of the people's voice and right now we are screaming for police reform. I demand that the IMPD be required to have bodycams running 24/7 when officers are on duty. Sean Reed was wrongfully killed at the hands of an IMPD officer and had it not been livestreamed, there may not have been any reasonable evidence to demand accountability. Furthermore, I require, as the police force is in place to protect us constituents and uphold OUR laws, that all law enforcement officers be trained in deescalation tactics and that nonfatal force always be used before any sort of alternative is considered. I'm tired of watching as our government treats the lives of black americans as lesser and it is beyond the time for change. I demand it. We demand it. BlackLivesMatter NoJusticeNoPeace
