An open letter to the U.S. Congress

Coronavirus Testing Must be More Easily Accessible

34 so far! Let’s get to 50 signers!

After reading several accounts of people who are in the healthcare industry with coronavirus symptoms who can't get CDC testing, I am very concerned about how this issue is being managed. We need widespread availability of coronavirus tests and it needs to be available at no charge to the patient so there isn't a disincentive to get tested (especially for healthcare workers). While I hear a lot from the President regarding his views on politicization of this crisis, the fact is that his CDC is managing this politically by limiting the amount of testing being done and therefore skewing the data. Now is not the time to let a reality TV star lead the country through a crisis. It's time for Congress to assert its authority and do the right thing for all Americans from all political parties.
