End the Secrecy Envelope Requirement Today!

There is a massive election issue that needs immediate action to correct. The recent Pennsylvania Supreme Court Decision to invalidate ballots returned without the secrecy envelope (“naked ballots”) has set our state up to be the site of an election disaster. With the large amount of absentee and mail voting this year due to the global pandemic, we could see hundreds of thousands of ballots invalidated. This secrecy envelope requirement is a relic of previous absentee ballot counting techniques and serves no electoral purpose now. I urge you to immediately move to end the secrecy envelope requirement, and as a standalone bill, not attached to any more controversial legislation.
