An open letter to the U.S. Congress

No justice, no peace

7 so far! Let’s get to 10 signers!

How is the United States government so blind to the incessant racism and police brutality in this country? How is it that white men can riot and burn down towns when their sports team loses, but it's terrorism and anarchy when protesters fighting for their lives do it? I usually don't condone violence, but our voices need to be heard. The only way that is happening is when we speak up and stop being peaceful. Even when we are peaceful, which the media doesn't show of course, we are tear gassed, shot with rubber bullets, and assaulted. The government needs to stop enabling this behavior and follow the laws. The US government is made up of a bunch of cherry picking assholes that only follow the law and US Constitution when it's convenient for them. If the government and it's supporters are "true Americans", they would be fighting for freedom, justice, and equality. Instead, the military is being called to attack peaceful US citizens exercising their first amendment right to peaceful protest. Does President Trump know that he is committing treason and violating Article 3 section 3 of the US Constitution by calling the military to "shoot to kill" its citizens and start a war against them? If the media started showing that it's the Trump supporters, white supremacists , and cops that are instigating the violence and looting, maybe the country could wake up and see that we are not the enemies. The government needs to start making changes and building a new justice system from the ground up, one that does not have a racist foundation. I hope the government knows that they are not getting away with this. We cannot be silenced.
